Five made permanent judges of High Court

BANGALORE: Five additional judges of the Karnataka High Court were on Thursday sworn in as permanent judges of the court. Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph administered the oath to the judges at a simple function at the Conference Hall on the High Court premises. The judges are Ashok B. Hinchigeri, V. Jagannathan, C.R. Kumaraswamy, Subash B. Adi and A.S. Bopanna.

Born on 20-05-1959, Mr. Bopanna enrolled as an advocate on November 21, 1984, and practised Civil, Constitutional, Company, Service and Labour matters in the High Court as well as in the civil and labour Courts. He worked as legal adviser to Central public sector undertakings and also as Additional Central Government Standing Counsel from 1999 to 2005. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Karnataka on January 6, 2006

Born on August, 10,1951, Mr. Subash Adi enrolled as an advocate on November 10, 1978, and practised Writ, Civil, Criminal matters. He was appointed as an additional judge on January 6, 2006.

Mr. Chikka Rachappa Kumaraswamy was born on August 25, 1953 and enrolled as an advocate on March 11, 1983. He practised in civil, labour and criminal courts and was Principal District and Sessions Judge, Bangalore. He was appointed additional judge on March 7, 2005.

Mr. Jaganathan was born September 9, 1950 and enrolled as an advocate on 1982.

He practised in High Court of Karnataka and District and Sessions Courts, Bangalore, and also worked as District and Sessions Judge, Karnataka Judicial Service, from 1993 till his elevation.

Mr. Ashok Hinchigeri was appointed additional judge on March 7, 2005. He was born on August 24, 1955, and enrolled as an advocate in 1987.

He practised in the lower courts and the High Court of Karnataka.
