HC judge sworn in

CUTTACK: Justice Sanju Panda was on Thursday sworn in as an additional judge of Orissa High Court. Acting Chief Justice of the HC Justice A.K. Ganguly administered the oath of office to Ms Justice Panda at a simple function inside the court premises. The Law Minister, Home Secretary, judges of the High Court, advocate general, members of the bar and several eminent persons of the city were present at the swearing in ceremony. After the ceremony, she officiated the court proceedings sharing the same bench with the acting Chief Justice in Court No. 1 .

Ganguly new CJ

Mr Justice A K Ganguly who was officiating as the acting chief justice of Orissa High Court after the retirement of former chief justice Sujit Barman Roy in January this year would be new Chief justice of the High Court .. A presidential warrant confirming his appointment to the post had arrived here recently. Governor Rameswar Thakur would administer the oath of office to Chief Justice Ganguly here on Friday, official sources said.
