NEW DELHI:
The Lok Sabha on Thursday wished the Indian cricket team best wishes as it left the shores to take part in the World Cup Cricket competition in the West Indies.
"The cricket team left for the West Indies and let us convey our best wishes," Speaker Somnath Chatterjee told the House amid thumping of the desks.
And when Ramdas Athawale said "we want the cup," the Speaker remarked for that there has to be discipline and suggested "let the players not follow us."
The remarks came after Mr. Chatterjee congratulated MP Navin Jindal for winning a gold medal in skeet shooting at the 5th Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi memorial master competition at Jaipur recently.
"I am sure the House would join me in congratulating Mr. Jindal on his commendable achievements," the Speaker said as the Congress MP stood up acknowledging greetings from fellow MPs.
