COIMBATORE: As many as 33,848 students from 302 Higher Secondary Schools in Coimbatore appeared for the Plus-Two examination, which began on Thursday, in 85 centres. "The students were jubilant after their first examination," S. Karmegam, Chief Educational Officer, (CEO) said. Around 2,700 staff were stationed for examination duties and a number of flying squads were formed to curb malpractices and to maintain vigil. However, no malpractices had been reported, he said. District Collector Neeraj Mittal and the CEO visited several centres. Three boys and a girl with visual impairment took the examination with the help of scribes.
