Aspire to be job creators, engineering graduates told

"Government ready to extend financial aid"

CUDDALORE: Vice-Chancellor of Thiruvalluvar University L. Kannan has called upon fresh engineering graduates to become job creators rather than job seekers, and, contribute towards conservation of natural resources. The Vice-Chancellor was delivering a lecture at the second Graduation Day of Krishnasamy College of Engineering and Technology here on Friday. He awarded various degrees to 300 graduates.

Mr. Kannan said the image of India had gone up several notches in world forums owing to its vast pool of scientific and technical hands. For setting up self-help ventures, either individually or jointly, funds would not be a constraint, because the Government and banks were ready to extend financial assistance.

Jobs were available in plenty, provided the candidates had thorough knowledge in their respective fields and good communication skills. Therefore, even while pursuing the courses, the candidates ought to upgrade their skills. He commended Krishnasamy Engineering College for having a vision of imparting quality education.

The Vice-Chancellor further said India was one of the 18 "multi-diverse countries," in terms of varied cultural orientations. However, there happened to be man-made pressures on the diverse natural resources, and therefore, it had become the responsibility of the fresh graduates to contribute their bit for their preservation. K. Rajendran, college chairman, said the college would never compromise on quality.

The college would sign a memorandum of understanding with Sutherland for establishing a language laboratory. R. Anand, executive director of Sri Krishnasamy Reddiar Educational Trust, K.N. Gnanasundari, trustee, N. Vijayakumar, secretary, and P. Sivagnanam, Principal, participated.
