Special Correspondent

The film, being shot in city, comes in both English and Hindi

HYDERABAD: Buddha, a film on the life and times of Gautama Buddha, is being made in the city by award winning director Allani Sridhar of `Komaram Bheem' fame. A city-based industrialist and exporter K. Raja Sekhar is producing it under the aegis of Dharma Patha Creations. The film is being made simultaneously in English and Hindi.

Noted exponent of Indian culture and philosophy K. Sivananda Murthy is providing the script and dialogues for the English version while D.K. Goel, the man behind several popular television serials, pens the Hindi script.

"The effort is to remind ourselves and send across the values of non-violence, tolerance and sacrifice as a way of life propounded by Gautama Buddha. They are all the more relevant in this violent and materialistic era," said director Sridhar.

The cast includes Sunil Sharma, Punet issar, Aman Varma, Surendra Pal, Kausha Rach, Maansi Pandey. Telugu film actress Parvathi Melton appears in the English version. Sasi Preetam scores music for the film. "We plan to release the film on May 2, the Buddha Purnima Day," he added.
