KURNOOL: Former Mayor and TDP leader Bangi Ananthaiah and his supporters staged a novel protest here on Saturday against poor allocation of resources to Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget. Mr. Ananthaiah styled himself as `fakir' and went round the place with a begging bowl, seeking alms. To provide a natural ambience, Mr. Ananthaiah drafted a few `mendicants' who were not connected with any political party. They helped Mr. Ananthaiah to wear and act naturally. He demanded the Congress Ministers from the State resign immediately owning moral responsibility for the step-motherly treatment to the State. Voters will realise their folly in supporting a party, which has no concern for their aspirations, he said.
