Tuticorin: Muthoot Group Volleyball Club posted a 25-10, 23-25, 25-23, 25-14 win in 66 minutes over Jatra Suru Sangha, Kolkata in the Vedanta National League volleyball championship (Preliminary III) for the Sterlite Trophy here on Saturday. Muthoot finished at the top of the table with three wins and a loss (seven points) while Jatra Suru failed to post a win. Muthoot is now in the race for qualifying for the super league. However, ONGC has to play against Southern Railway and IOB, Chennai. ONGC has three points (one win and one loss) and the other two teams have five points (two wins and a loss) each. A victory for Southern Railway and IOB or two wins for ONGC will ensure that two teams will finish on par with Muthoot. If such a scenario arises the issue will be decided by the quotient of points won and lost. Even if that fails to resolve the deadlock; the sets won and lost will be taken into account to decide the issue. Earlier results: Men: IOB, Chennai b Jatra Suru Sangha, Kolkata 25-5, 25-13, 25-12. Women: Eastern Railway bt Dr. Sivanthi Club, Chennai 25-20, 25-18, 25-17. Sports Correspondent
