EC orders video films of meetings

LUCKNOW: To ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission has directed that video films of the public meetings of all major leaders of the recognised political parties be prepared and screened.

The District Magistrates have been directed to screen the videos and send their reports to the Commission, according to State election office sources here.

Only officials on election duty would be permitted to enter the 100-metre radius area within the polling centres with gunners or shadows, they said. - PTI
