By-elections to Rajya Sabha seats

NEW DELHI: By-elections to the two Rajya Sabha seats from Punjab and Haryana that fell vacant following the death of sitting members, Sukhbuns Kaur Bhinder and Sumitra Mahajan, would be held on March 29, the Election Commission announced on Saturday.

The election process will begin on March 12 with the notification, and nominations can be filed till March 19. The last date for withdrawal of candidature has been set for March 22. Polling will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on March 29, and the results will be announced within an hour.
