Staff Reporter

MADURAI : A new building, constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.5 lakh, was inaugurated at N. M. R. Subburaman Memorial Residential School at K. K. Nagar here on Saturday. The sanitation block will cater to the needs of 125 students in the age group of 5 to 15 years.

Madurai Ladies Circle No 8 had constructed the block (four bathrooms and two toilets) for boys and girls. The circle had adopted the school under its `Educate to Enlighten' programme to provide basic facilities to the school.

The project was implemented with funds released from the corpus fund of Round Table India and funds raised by a lifestyle show held in the city.

Seetha Venkatesh, president, Ladies Circle India, inaugurated the building. Pranay Tridevi, publicity convener, and Mintu Sarma, fellowship convener, from Hyderabad also participated in the function.
