This Day That Age
A woman voter told her friends on emerging from a polling booth at Etaiyapuram on March 4 that she distributed her vote "impartially" to all the four candidates contesting a seat to the Madras Assembly. To her inquisitive friends for whom this was an enigma, prompt came the answer It was easily done. "The idea entered my mind that I should be fair to all the four contestants, without being partial to any one. I neatly folded the ballot paper twice over symmetrically and tore the same into four equal parts. Each piece I deposited in the four boxes placed there."
