IMPHAL: Irom Sharmila, the Manipur social activist on fast for more than six years to press for the withdrawal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, returned here on Sunday following her release by the Delhi police. Immediately on her arrival, the 34-year-old activist was admitted to a hospital where she continued hunger strike and was fed through a pipe. Ms. Sharmila was arrested by the Delhi police in October last and admitted to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences.

She was shifted to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital even as she continued her fast. PTI
