KANNUR: Development and renovation works estimated at Rs. 42 lakh to be initiated in panchayat areas in the district have been given administrative sanction. An official press release here said that District Collector Ishita Roy had given the sanction. The works included road development, construction of buildings and electrification proposed under the local area development fund of the MLAs from the district. Tarring of Maniyath Estate Road in Dharmadom panchayat limits, the Chonadam-Kunduchira road in Eranholi panchayat limits and the Parimadom-Edanur Tagore Library road and construction of a gallery at the Kathirur Government Vocational Higher Secondary School would be taken up. The local area development funds include those of Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Health Minister P.K. Sreemathy, Irikkur MLA K.C. Joseph, Azhikode MLA M. Prakashan and Koothuparamba MLA P. Jayarajan.
