Software production unit in the works

CHENNAI: City-based software solution provider, CYS Systems (P) Limited, will set up a production unit with an outlay of Rs. 50 crore shortly.

With Indian entertainment industry growing at the rate of 20 per cent, there is a big need for skilled hands in the multimedia industry which, by 2008, will employ about 1.1 million professionals, said C.Y. Sathya, managing director of CYS Systems.

Its subsidiary, CYS Multimedia, offers diploma courses in high-end graphics and multimedia training/development, keeping in mind the need for architects to create mobile gaming, special effects and 3D character animation.

The course content includes design, digital imaging, sound, video and animation, all of which offer job opportunities in television, interior, textile, fashion and jewellery design sectors. CYS has centres and laboratories at four places in Chennai.
