One killed, 12 injured in group clash

Hazaribag (Jharkhand): One person was killed on Sunday and about 12 others, including police personnel, injured when two groups clashed at Chano village, about eight km from here, police said.

Superintendent of Police Praveen Kumar Singh said one person in one group died after being hit by a bullet "fired by its rival."

The groups turned against the police when policemen rushed to the spot to control the situation, resulting in injuries to policemen, he said. They dispersed after the police used baton, tear gas shells and fired in the air. — PTI
