School teachers to fill in for lecturers

ANANTAPUR: The Intermediate Public Examination commencing from Monday face a shortage of invigilators. The examination will be held in 80 centres in the district till March 24.

According to official sources, against the requirement of about 2,000 invigilators (lecturers of junior colleges) only about 500 lecturers and principals were available in the district. If 250 of them are kept aside for roles of chief superintendent, custodian, flying squad and departmental requirement, only 250 personnel are available from the required category.

However, teachers of School Education Department are being deputed. Convenor of the district exams committee and Regional Intermediate Officer Abdul Basith said it was the responsibility of colleges concerned to arrange the required number of invigilators from nearby schools.
