GULBARGA: Tension prevailed in some parts of Yadgir town in Gulbarga district following the death of a person in a clash between members of two communities allegedly over contribution of funds to celebrate Holi. According to the reports reaching here, members of the two communities clashed near Muslimpur in Yadgir town . An argument ended in fisticuffs in which a few persons suffered injuries. Soon after the clash, the victim, Mohd. Matheen (35) collapsed and died. Based on a complaint by family members of the victim, the police have registered a case of murder. No arrests have been made. There were conflicting reports about the cause of the death. While one report said the victim had died owing to heart attack, another report said the victim had died from injuries during the clash. The police as a precautionary measure rushed additional forces to the town to maintain order during the Holi celebrations in Yadgir town on Sunday. Senior officials supervised security arrangements. Meanwhile, in another incident not related to Holi, police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse two groups in Jewargi town on Sunday. The clash started with an argument between merchants in the mutton market.
