Rs. 60 cr. sanctioned

KARIMNAGAR: A total of 90 watersheds, 15,000 check-dams and 2, 400 small trenches would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 60 crores under the Prime Minister's Special Package Programme in Karimnagar district during the next three years period. Disclosing this at a meeting here on Sunday, Collector M. V. Satyanarayana said that the Union Government had sanctioned Rs. 60 crores for taking up water harvesting structures at all the water sources. Each watershed would be taken up at a cost of Rs. 3 lakhs, check-dam at Rs. 2 lakhs and trench at Rs. 12,500 each. He said that they would chalk out strategies for the effective implementation of the programme . The meeting also discussed about Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Programme .
