Dharamsala: To check incidents of malpractice, Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBSE) has decided to strictly enforce Copying Act, including deploying special women flying squads for girls, in the annual examination starting on Monday. The Act has provision of imprisonment, Board Chairman B.R. Rahi has said. The Board has set up 1,448 examination centres across the State for nearly five lakh students who would be writing exams, he said, adding that 1,448 superintendents, 1,525 deputy superintendents and 11,034 invigilators would be pressed into service.
57 flying squads
To keep a strict vigil over examinees, 57 flying squads have been formed, the Chairman said. Three special women flying squads have been constituted for keeping a watch over girl students, Rahi said, adding they would be deputed in Shimla, Hamirpur and Kangra districts. As part of security arrangements, the board has decided to deploy about 180 ex-soldiers to guard the exam centres. Students, working staff and others entering the exam centres have been restricted from taking mobile phones inside, Rahi said. - PTI
