CHANDIGARH: Growers of Khair trees would soon be permitted to sell their trees to any individual or agency at high prices, according to Haryana Minister of State for Forests Kiran Choudhry. She said that soon an amendment would be made in the notification issued in 1997 which had stipulated that Khair trees standing on the private farms in the Shivalik area could only be sold by the Haryana Forest Department to recognized agencies. She said that the farmers had been demanding that they be allowed to sell their trees at their own level to any individual or agency so that they could get remunerative price.
