False declaration: complaint filed against MLA

BANGALORE: The Lokayukta on Saturday filed a complaint against Channapatna MLA C.P. Yogeshwar for allegedly giving false declaration of assets and liabilities before the authority.

"This action will prompt more people to question the declaration," Lokayukta Santosh Hegde told The Hindu . The action follows an inquiry by Mr. Hegde, who found that the MLA had not given information about a liability of Rs. 5 crore, about the car used by him, and about the shares he held. The Lokayukta Registrar filed a complaint under Section 177 of Indian Penal Code (furnishing false information).
