N. Shivanna dead

BANGALORE: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) State general secretary and State convenor of the Dalit Sangharsh Samithi N Shivanna died on Sunday. He was 57.

He is survived by his wife and three children. A native of Chintamani of Kolar district, he was known for his pro-Dalit struggles. He was active in the Dalit movement right from the 1970s. The last rites will be performed at Chintamani on Monday.
