Madrid: It turned out to be a bad Sunday for Madrid giants Real and Atletico, who lost ground on the top three in Spain. Real was held to a 1-1 draw at home by Getafe, and Atletico was beaten 1-0 away by surprise package Recreativo Huelva. The draw in the Bernabeu confirms Real's appalling home form, the worst in the club's illustrious history. Fabio Capello's troubled team has won just five of its 12 home league games this season. Getafe made a bold start, and Ruben Pulido headed against the Real crossbar early on, and David Beckham responded by hitting the Getafe bar with a dipping, long drive. On the half hour mark, Getafe went ahead through Daniel Guiza, cleverly turning in a lovely pass from Mario Cotelo. But Real levelled just before the break through Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who scored from the penalty spot after Getafe keeper Roberto Abboandanzieri needlessly pulled down Robinho. The results: English Premier League: West Ham 3 (Noble, Tevez, Zamora) lost to Tottenham Hotspur 4 (Defoe-pen, Tainio, Berbatov, Stalteri). Spanish league: Deportivo La Coruna 0 lost to Real Betis 1 (Fernando); Athletic Bilbao 0 lost to Gimnastic Tarragona 2 (Portillo, Pinilla); Espanyol 1 (Tamudo) drew with Villarreal 1 (Forlan); Racing Santander 1 (Juanjo) bt Osasuna 0. Mallorca 3 (Jankovic, Victor, Arango) bt Levante 1 (Kapo); Real Zaragoza 3 (Aimar, D. Milito, Ewerthon) bt Real Sociedad 2 (Herrera, Diaz de Cerio); Real Madrid 1 (Van Nistelrooy-pen) drew with Getafe 1 (Guiza); Recreativo Huelva 1 (Sinama-Pongolle-pen) bt Atletico Madrid 0. Serie A: Cagliari 2 (Suazo, Pepe) bt Atalanta 0; Catania 1 (Corona) drew with Siena 1 (Cozza); Fiorentina 5 (Toni-2, Gamberini-2, Franceschini-og) bt Torino 1 (Rosina); Lazio 1 (Rocchi) bt Sampdoria 0; Messina 2 (Rigano-2) bt Palermo 0; Parma 2 (Budan, Rossi) drew with Reggina 2 (Bianchi-2); Udinese 0 lost to Empoli 1 (Pozzi) Agencies
