BHUBANESWAR: Activists of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) staged demonstration protesting various policies of Naveen Patnaik government at PMG Square, in front of the State Assembly, here on Monday. They demanded that the State Government should make necessary reforms in its approach to eliminate the problem of unemployment. Earlier, the SJM activists took out a procession from Rastravasha Prasar Samiti to PMG Square. "The State has 9.74 lakh unemployed people. Since 47 per cent of state's total population lives below poverty line, there is one unemployed per every 10 persons," Bibhu Prasad Nayak, joint convenor of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, said. The agitators demanded cancellation of sez status accorded to different industries.
