Fire in IOC refinery
Guwahati:
A major fire broke out in the Indian Oil Corporation's Guwahati refinery's crude distilling unit on Monday night, sources in the refinery said.
The fire, caused due to a leakage in unit 1 of the refinery, was spotted around 9 p.m. Fire tenders doused the blaze in over two hours.
The extent of the damage could not be immediately ascertained.
No casualty or injury was reported, the sources said.
3 injured in blast
Three persons, including two CRPF jawans, were seriously injured in an ULFA-planted bomb explosion in Upper Assam's Dhemaji district on Monday.
``Two CRPF men and a civilian driver were injured when a remote-controlled bomb exploded beneath their vehicle at Jorkata area,'' Dhemaji DC D.N. Misra told PTI.
