MADURAI: The 32nd annual Tamil music festival (Tamil Isai Vizha) began at Raja Muthiah Mandran here on Monday. Presiding over the inaugural function, N. Chenbaharaman, Deputy Inspector General of Police, lauded the service rendered by the Madurai Tamil Isai Sangam for the cause of Tamil music.The festival began with group singing of `Thevaram.' R. Chekkappa Chettiar, executive trustee, welcomed the gathering. The inaugural function was followed by Sudha Ragunathan's music concert. The 10-day music festival will feature vocal concerts and dance programmes, besides `Innisai pattarangam,' dance drama and a sound and light show. The festival will conclude on March 14.
