``What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other word would smell as sweet.'' William Shakespeare in Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2) Street junctions are known after the names of cinemas at several places. It could be a matter of convenience to the public as well as the cinema houses. Or, are there other reasons. Padma, Menaka and Deepa in Kochi city are among the cinemas known for lending their names to the busy junctions. Deepa, near Ravipuram, took on a new avatar a year ago, and the theatre is known by a different name now, but the junction is still known as Deepa.
