Jeyaprakash shines for Arasaradi CC

Madurai: An unbeaten 78 by Jeyaprakash helped Arasaradi Cricket Club defeat Freak CC by six wickets in the Madurai District Cricket Association first division `A' zone league at Madurai on Sunday.

The scores (First division `A' zone): Freak CC 132 in 27.5 overs (Rajesh 52, V. Prabhakar four for 30) lost to Arasaradi CC 133 for four in 18.2 overs (Jeyaprakash 78 n.o.).

`B' zone: Majestic Kids CC 156 in 43.2 overs lost to Supersonic CC 159 for four in 27.3 overs (Rajesh 53 n.o.); KKRC 168 in 43.2 overs (Pethann 40, Syed 41) lost to Eleven Bullets CC 171 for four in 22 overs (Madankumar 44 not out).

All India hockey

The second annual K.N. Subbaraj Memorial Trophy all-India hockey tournament will be organised by the Rajiv Gandhi Hockey Club at Kuppusamy Naidu Stadium, Kovilpatti, from May 17 to 27.

The winner will get Rs. 50,000 and the runner-up Rs.30,000. Entries close on March 30.
