Veeramani hails decision on CET
In a statement here, Mr. Veeramani said his party was opposing CET right from its date of introduction, as "it was disadvantageous to rural students." The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, after coming to power, introduced a legislation abolishing CET and also got the President's assent. The Government had announced that it would be notified in the gazette soon. He warned the Government that attempts would be made by "vested interests" to "sabotage" the decision. The Government should file a caveat in the Supreme Court to protect the Act and take steps to implement the decision in the coming academic year itself. Special Correspondent
