Bus fares have not increased, says Minister

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Transport Minister K.N. Nehru on Tuesday said that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Government had not increased bus fares in any manner.

The previous AIADMK Government had increased the minimum fare for `M' services from Rs. 2 to Rs. 3.

This fare was charged even now. He described as "blatant lie" the contention of AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa that the fares had been raised by the DMK Government.
