HASSAN: A stray dog bit a one-and-a-half-year-old baby girl, Nandini, in Arakalagudu on Monday. The incident took place on the Kote Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple Street. Nandini's mother was washing clothes while the child was standing nearby. The dog is said to have pounced on Nandini and bitten her left arm. This incident created panic among residents. According to them, there is an increase in stray dog numbers as mutton and poultry shops throw waste around the area. Meanwhile, the culling of stray dogs continued in Hassan district. In Hassan city, about 500 stray dogs were killed on Tuesday. In Arasikere, 957 stray dogs were caught . According to an official K.N. Sathyanarayana, a group from Kerala has been engaged to trap the stray dogs.
