Bomb hoax: accused arrested

ALAPPUZHA: The police have arrested the accused behind the recent bomb hoax in the Alappuzha district court and the Haripad and Kayamkulam courts in the district. The hoax had affected the functioning of the courts.

The accused, Priyaranjan, alias Chakkappan, 37, of Vadikkad junction here, was arrested by the Changanassery police on Tuesday. Priyaranjan is an autorickshaw driver.

The arrest was made on the basis of information received by the police following the publication of a sketch prepared by the Alappuzha North police. The sketch was prepared on the basis of the information gathered by questioning the operator of a telephone booth from where the call was made to the police control room here.
