KADAPA: District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu expressed his ire at revenue officials on Tuesday for failing to furnish proper data on assigned lands in Kadapa district.

While 4.60 lakh acres of land was assigned to poorer sections as per Government records, RDOs and tahsildars lacked proper data on the extent of land in possession of others, he remarked at a review meeting. Advising revenue officials to furnish comprehensive data within a week, the Collector appealed to people to reveal details of assigned lands encroached upon or changing hands and assured them of confidentiality. People's complaints should be recorded in registers village-wise and enquiry conducted to ascertain facts, he said. He wanted grievance cell mechanism implemented in a foolproof manner at tahsildar level.
