Plea to implement panel report

KADAPA: Koneru Ranga Rao Committee recommendations should be implemented in toto to safeguard rights of STs, Girijana Samakhya district convener Govind Naik said on Tuesday.

The STs displaced by irrigation projects should be rehabilitated, he demanded at a dharna staged by samakhya members before the Collectorate. Assigned lands purchased illegally from tribals should also be restored to them, he said. He also sought setting up of industrial units using forest produce as raw material.
