KOLLAM: The district unit of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will organise a six-day campaign against price rise and other issues in the district from Wednesday. IUML district president A. Yunus Kunju said State secretary E.T. Mohammed Basheer would inaugurate the campaign at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Ochira. Mr. Yunus Kunju said the IUML sought the implementation of the recommendations in the Justice Sachar Commission Report. The campaign would seek to stop the harassment of the minority communities and demand the commencement of repair on MC Road. The IUML district unit had brought out a booklet on the recommendations of the commission report, which would be distributed it across the State. The people would be briefed about the recommendations during the campaign. The valedictory function of the campaign would be held at the Chinnakada Press Club Maidan on March 12. IUML leader P.K. Kunhalikutty would inaugurate the meeting on the occasion. A rival faction of the IUML district unit would also organise a parallel campaign.
