BHUBANESWAR: A 12-hour bandh called by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) protesting the assassination of party MP Sunil Mahato in neighbouring Jharkhand on Sunday had its impact in Orissa's Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday. The district headquarterS town Baripada wore a deserted look as government offices, business establishments hand banks remained closed. Several groups of JMM supporters were making rounds in the town to enforce the bandh. The party has strong presence in this bordering district. There was no report of any untoward incidents from the district even as traffic had been stalled on the NH-5 and NH-6 by erecting blockades. Security was tightened by the district police in view of the bandh.
