CHANDIGARH: Jean Rodrigues, wife of Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator, on Tuesday called for ensuring that the benefits of schemes and policies percolate to the people at the grassroots level. Inaugurating a Resource Centre and a seminar on women's empowerment on the eve of International Women's Day organised by the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation at the Mayor's House, she said the Chandigarh Administration was committed to empowerment of women. The Resource Centre would serve as a common platform where women from different strata of society could come together and interact, said Mayor Harjinder Kaur. It would also provide family and career counselling besides vocational training for the women. She also announced that a Mahila Bhavan would be set up here.
