Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended in Alwarpet — T.T.K. Road, Bishop Wallers Avenue (West) and S.S. Iyengar Road — between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday for maintenance work. Supply will be resumed before 5 p.m. if work is completed earlier.

Phone lines change

Around 200 numbers in the range 2743 5000 to 2743 5999 of Navalur exchange will be shifted to level 27478. With effect from 3 p.m. on March 7, about 180 numbers of the same exchange will be shifted to EWSD switch without change of numbers. BSNL has requested customers using phone plus, ISD/STD facilities to re-register their secret code. For assistance call SDE groups Navalur: 2743 5500 or JTO Siruseri: 2743 5199.

IIT professors offer course

Dermatological camp

The Centre for the Welfare of the Aged (CEWA), in association with the Deputy Director of Leprosy Control, organised a skin screening camp at Hanumanthapuram near Triplicane on Sunday. Nearly 700 persons including 125 elders were tested for skin diseases.

World Kidney Day tomorrow

Counselling for graduate teachers

Three Corporation officials suspended

Three officials of the Chennai Corporation have been suspended for undervaluing taxes during assessment in ward 108 in Nungambakkam zone. Assistant Revenue Officers A. Wajid Khan and P.N. Deenadayalan, who were earlier tax assessors in the ward, and tax assessor A. Antony Arputharaj were suspended.
