Ravi Varma paintings adorn aircraft

Paintings by Raja Ravi Varma figure in the Air India Express Boeing 737-800 aircraft that was inducted into the national fleet recently.

It is for the first time that works of a painter are being featured in the tail of the aircraft. The tail designs are an innovative feature of the aircraft. The sides of the tail bear the replicas of Ravi Varma's `Woman playing a musical instrument' and `Damayanti with the swan'.

The B 737-800 is the sixth aircraft to be acquired by the no-frills airline.
