Praja Spandana's protest

Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPTNAM: Founder-president of Praja Spandana C.S. Rao led a 12-hour hunger strike from 10 a.m. near the Mahatma Gandhi statue opposite the GVMC office to protest against what he called the nonchalant attitude of local MLAs and MPs with regard to their demand for a separate railway zone for north coastal Andhra Pradesh.

He was accompanied by 15 others, including former Vice-Chancellors of Andhra University - K.V. Ramana and M. Gopalakrishna Reddy.

Praja Spandana has been seeking a separate zone with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters since last couple of years.
