Government urged to control drug price

CHENNAI: The Communist Party of India has urged the Government to control the spiralling prices of essential drugs in Tamil Nadu.

A resolution was adopted at the State Committee meeting of the party, which was addressed by State secretary Tha. Pandian here on March 4.

"Shocking increase"

A resolution said prices of drugs meant for persons suffering from heart ailments and diabetes had risen by 65 per cent, and added that the increase had shocked the people, who had been told that the prices of essential drugs would come down under the VAT regime.
