Divide between TRS legislators widens further

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The rift in the TRS Legislature Party where a section of MLAs are openly questioning the leadership of party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao widened further during filing of nominations for the Council elections on Wednesday.

Dissident MLAs fielded Kasani Gyaneshwar as their candidate for the Council election, much to the dismay of the party leadership that announced M. Sudershan Rao and Abdul Rahman as its official candidates. Tense moments prevailed in the Assembly premises for some time as supporters of the two groups came face to face with each other. Supporters of the official candidates raised slogans against dissident MLAs.
