NEW DELHI: The Rajya Sabha will discuss the recent incidents of discrimination by State Governments against two media houses the Eenadu Group and North-East TV according to a decision taken by the House's Business Advisory Committee. Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Ravula Chandra Sekhar Reddy (Telugu Desam Party) mentioned attempts by the Andhra Pradesh Government to ``contain the media.'' Digvijay Singh (Janata Dal-United) alleged that the owner of NE TV, ``a former Minister in the Prime Minister's office,'' is facing death threats from the United Liberation Front of Asom and denial of professional working space by the State Government. Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil said the Assam Government had been asked to provide adequate security to the NE TV owner. If that was not provided, ``it will be asked why [this was not done],'' the Minister added.
