VISAKHAPATNAM: The four-day National veterans' badminton championships, commencing at the Swarna Bharati Indoor Stadium here on Thursday, will be the first National event to follow the new scoring system. There is no need for a player to break the opponent's service. The game will be of 21 points with a clear two-point lead needed to win a game. The matches will be of best-of-three games, said the organisers at a press conference here on Tuesday. A game can go up to 29 points and in case the score read 29-all, the player winning the 30th point will be the winner. All efforts are being made to conduct the women's events too. This event has attracted entries from 20 States, the highest number so far. The qualifying rounds will begin on Wednesday. Special Correspondent
