`Misuse' of authority reason for removal of CIEFL Registrar

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: "Misuse" of authority and the explanation sought from the Ministry of Human Resource Development over sharing information with the media are said to be the reasons for the removal of the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL) Registrar, M. Muthyalu Naidu, from his post on Tuesday.

Vice Chancellor V.S.S. Sastry removed the Registrar from his position on Tuesday citing objectionable behaviour. A copy of the relieving order was sent to the Registrar of S. K University, his parent department.

According to the Vice Chancellor, the HRD Ministry had sought an explanation from him over Mr. Naidu's statements at Vishakapatnam recently that a CIEFL centre was being set up in the port city. It is also being alleged that Mr. Naidu levelled baseless allegations in the press against some senior professors of the institute.
