BANGALORE: Even as the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike personnel were continuing with the dog catching drive, the reports of dog bites continued with another boy being bitten on Wednesday. Eleven-year-old Sunil was bitten by a stray dog in Banashankari. The boy was taken to Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences where he was treated. The BBMP, which held a meeting with members of resident welfare associations to get a feedback on the drive on Wednesday refused to share any information about the meeting, the number of dogs caught and the dog bite till late in the night. Every official who was contacted passed the buck to his subordinate officer. Deputy Commissioner (Health) Manu Baligar passed on to Chief Health Officer L. Gayatri, who in turn said the Public Relations Officer would send a press release. Meanwhile, a private television channel reported that the absence of space had made BBMP to keep the dogs in the trucks. Representatives of more than six associations, who participated in the meeting, have reportedly appreciated the drive. Representatives from these organisations urged the civic body to shut down all unauthorised mutton stalls.
