Police inspector arrested

BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police have arrested a police inspector of Sirsi who was accused of demanding Rs. 1,000 as bribe for forwarding an application for gun licence.

Anjaneya, police inspector, demanded money from Ganapathi Shivasamba Joshi. On a complaint, the Lokayukta police caught Chandrakant Krishna Naik, a head constable, who was receiving the money on behalf of Anjaneya.

The Lokayukta police caught the secretary of Kodachawad Gram Panchayat while he was accepting Rs. 5,000 to issue a cheque, according to a press release.
