`Tarang' auditorium opened

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The newly-constructed auditorium — Tarang — was inaugurated by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy at the Border Security Force's Signal Training School here on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister said the Government would give assistance to BSF personnel and their families stationed in the State. He said the school had been imparting training in electronic communication, map reading and generator engine filters trade. The Bureau of India Standards had recognised the institution for quality management and in 2006 had issued an IS/ISO 9001:2000 certification.

S. Chinnaswamy, chief engineer, Central Public Works Department, said the auditorium had a seating capacity of 270. The CPWD executed the project at Rs. 2.2 crore in 11 months, he added.
