Manikandan claims hat-trick

TIRUCHI: C. Manikandan took five for 20 including a hat-trick as Customs and Central Excise defeated Golden XI CC By 88 runs in a Tiruchi DCA first division league cricket match here.

The scores: First division: NIT 89 in 39.4 overs lost to Bishop Heber College `B' 90 for two in 17.5 overs (R. Shanmugaraja 53 not out).

Bishop Heber College `B' 174 in 45 overs (J. Sudhakar 46, R. Shanmugaraja 46, A. Mohanraj four for 22) bt St. Joseph's College 137 in 40.3 overs (R. Ganesh four for 26).

Bishop Heber College `B' 156 for nine in 37 overs (G. Terrance Savio 56) lost to Map CC 162 for four in 32 overs (K.S. Kalaiselvan 43, K.S. Arunmozhi 40).

Super Sonic CC 91 in 28.4 overs (M. Krishnaraj five for 29) lost to Bishop Heber College `B' 94 for three in 15.3 overs (R. Shanmugaraja 43 not out).

Akilan nets a brace

Akilan netted a brace as Kallakudi FC defeated SIT 3-0 in a Tiruchi District Football Association third division `B' zone league match here on Thursday. Edward was the other scorer.
